Moon Phase Meanings and Symbolism
The moon is one of our most prominent and ancient symbols. It has shaped how we understand and track time, its movement controls the tides, and its rise into the sky signals the coming of night. It has a marked association with femininity and fertility - for female menstrual cycles are roughly the same amount of time as a lunar phase. All of these roles have cemented its relationship to us, and we see this in the way that the moon has made its way into our myths and culture.
The lunar cycle is made up of several distinct phases, all of which have associations with different states of being. These states mirror a kind of spiritual path or quest - which like our search for ourselves, never ends. When we observe the moon, we see reflections of the grand pattern of life that is birth, death and rebirth.
How to Work With Moon Phases
New Moon/Dark Moon: As you might guess, the new moon is symbolic of beginnings. This phase is replete with pure potential and possibility. The slate is clean, anything can happen, and there’s a sense of expectancy about upcoming growth. New moons are generally good times to start new projects and launch new ventures.
Waxing Crescent Moon: Think about this time as planting a seed. The new moon gave you a chance to think about what it is that you want to accomplish, but the waxing crescent asks us to make it known, and develop our willpower to push it into fruition.
First Quarter Moon: This is symbolic of a time of maturation. Her thrust to reach fullness in the first quarter is also symbolic of assertion, drive, motivation, and the need to accomplish. First-quarter moons are a good time to get your motors running towards an end goal. The moon’s increase blesses your increase.
Waxing Gibbous Moon: The waxing gibbous moon is there when we are close to our goals, but we need to assess their viability. Perhaps your original desire is not possible at this time, but a different version of it is.
Half Moon: This moon phase is all about liminality. It is neither full nor new. The half-moon represents ‘either-or’ energy that implies anything can happen. Because it represents liminal essence (neither here nor there), it is rife with potential in terms of manifesting dreams, goals, etc. The half-moon is also symbolic of balance and harmony.
Full Moon: Ideally, the full moon sees your creative seeds from initial non-existence (new moon), to evolutional growth (first quarter) and now to its complete realization. The full moon is about illuminating what has been hidden. It’s symbolic of the whole enchilada – the full maturation of possibility. Full moons are designed to revel in accomplishments. It’s a time to embrace what has been revealed and bask in the beauty of full manifestation.
Waning Gibbous Moon: While your actions and their reactions are still clear in your memory, it’s a good time to reflect. This stage, like its waxing mirror, is also one for refining, but this time, instead of looking at events, and what you can do, think about how you feel. Again, the waning period is all about looking internally.
Last Quarter Moon: The waning of moon light is symbolic of relaxation, contemplation, and going within. It’s an extraordinarily introspective time. This is the phase in which to incubate ideas, sleep on your problems, hibernate just a little. It’s time to mull, meander and luxuriate in a time of peace and drowsy calm.
Waning Crescent Moon: This is a time for recuperation. To be fully open to the next cycle, one must completely be relieved from this one.

We use 100% from Nature Ingredients. The majority of our herbs are organic and ethically wildcrafted and foraged locally. The rest are typically garden grown in our medicinal garden. We do outsource when needed and always choose quality, certified organic sources. We try to utilize our local small business owners but do have several things that are shipped from non local small family farms.
We use Fair Trade, Raw and Organic Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, and Mango Butter. We use unrefined butters as this keeps all the vitamins, minerals and other natural properties of the butters intact. Our cocoa butter is non deodorized as the process of deodorizing (removing the naturally occurring soft cocoa scent) will destroy the antioxidants that naturally occur in the butter.
Free from chemicals! Well, sort of. Technically, Chemicals make up all matter. That means stating that we use no chemicals would be a lie as the scientific definition of chemical means that most everything (other than "energy" itself) IS a chemical. But we know what you mean and we ARE Free from Parabens, Pesticides, Petroleum, Phthalates, Sulfates, SLS, Artificial Colors, Synthetic Fragrances, and all the other yucky stuff.
My cockatoo wants nothing to do with my herbal goodness so all animals are safe. We only test on friends and family!
Of course. There's a wide range of allergies and sensitivities out there and it's possible to be allergic to any ingredient used as well as cross allergies. Some of the butters and oils used can trigger nut allergies. We recommend messaging us directly for more info prior to buying if you're aware of any major allergens. Allergies can start at any stage and age so if an unsuspected allergy occurs when using a product, discontinue use immediately and consult your doctor.
Everything is handmade to order in small batches using fair trade, organic, raw and wildcrafted ingredients whenever possible. This ensures your batch is fresh and the highest quality. Unfortunately, I am bombarded constantly by other shops, herbalists, and companies for my personal and family recipes. It is impossible for me to know who is genuinely just curious and who intends to steal and recreate my offerings. Due to the fact that this has happened to me with direct competitors, I do not share my ingredient for nonallergic or personal aversion specific requests.
However, if you are a budding herbal ally and are interested in knowledge, I am tickled pink to be part of your learning process!
Please understand that once your order ships we are no longer in control of what happens to your items.

During the summer, warm months, or warm weather:
Please remove your balms from the mailbox or porch as soon as they are delivered. We can not control shipping times or the weather (although we wish we could) and can not refund, replace or accept returns of melted balms. If your balms melt, using a handheld mixer can be useful, and just place it in a cool, dark location, or to quickly reset them, pop them in the fridge for 5-15 minutes. The balm quality should not be affected. Also, the balms may whiten in cooler temps; just give a stir! This will also not affect the quality. Thank you for your understanding.
There's no strong psychotropic. It's more of a gentle assist in opening the third eye, Sahasrara, and Agnya. I'm an herbalist so I choose to work with a combination of metaphysical attributes and ayurvedic. Some herbs in the psychic blend have very mild sedative properties, mostly to aid in relaxing and accessing the energies. I like to say "they're herbs, not magic." These blends offered are to simply help you access and expand your own magical intent. They have historical, traditional, and mythological ties to specific powers, but wouldn't necessarily invoke powers you do not have or haven't yet cultivated. These tea blends are lovely mild alternatives of safe herbs to open the gateway to accessing what you desire.
Cast iron products are traditionally made by casting melted iron ore into a mold.
Lost-wax process, also called cire-perdue, is a method of metal casting in which a molten metal is poured into a mold that has been created by means of a wax model. The wax is then melted off. Some wax residue may remain, especially in crevices and design features. To remove any remaining wax, you can gently scrape it away with a tool or your fingernail. Clean with a damp cloth and dry well to prevent any rusting.
