When a tea is not a tea

I actually love coffee but I'm a total tea gal as well. I've been partial to the fresh lemonbalm from the garden lately as well as fresh chamomile (it pays to grow your own tea garden!) But did you know that the word "tea" refers to the leaves of just one plant. All "true" tea comes from the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant, an evergreen shrub native to Asia — although many types of tea, from black teas like English Breakfast and Earl Grey to Chinese and Japanese green teas, can be derived from this one plant depending on how the leaves are processed.

When you're enjoying a hot cup of herbal "tea" what you're actually drinking is called a TISANE!

I still call it tea half the time, so if you're partial to the word tea vs tisane, by all means, keep on💕
